Anthony Krutzkamp was a professional ballet dancer with Cincinnati Ballet from the age of 18. He was promoted every season until he reached the rank of principal dancer at age 23. He has performed such classical roles as Prince Desire in Sleeping Beauty, Prince Charming in Cinderella, Siegfried in Swan Lake, Shakriar in 1001 Nights, and Romeo in Romeo & Juliet. He danced the lead in works by George Balanchine including Emeralds in Jewels, Theme and Variations, Concerto Barocco, Tchaikovsky pas de deux and Chaconne. His contemporary works include ballets by Twyla Tharp, Jorma Elo, Adam Houghland, and Darrell Grand Maultrie. As an international guest artist, Mr. Krutzkamp has performed Flames of Paris, Don Jose in Carmen, Solar in La Bayadere, Cavalier in The Nutcracker, Siegfried in Swan Lake, Franz in Coppelia, and Don Q Suite in Fukuoka and Okinawa, Japan. Mr. Krutzkamp received a Bachelor of Science in Management from Northeastern University in Boston, MA and was recognized by the University with a diploma of high honors, all while dancing. He retired from the Kansas City Ballet and served as Head of Kansas City Ballet’s Second Company. He created and founded the Kansas City Dance Festival in 2013 and Moving Arts Cincinnati in 2018 where he continues as Producing Artistic Director.

As a choreographer, Mr. Krutzkamp has created and set works on Kansas City Dance Festival, Verb Ballets, Concert Nova, KCB II and for Kansas City Ballet’s New Moves. He set his original work Similar on the University of Cincinnati Conservatory of Music Dance Department. He recently choreographed on Verb Ballets and co-created a work with choreographer Ryan Jolicoeur-Nye for Kansas City Dance Festival. In 2016, he choreographed a 40-minute version for KCB II of Carmina Burana, which was performed at the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts. Earlier in 2017, he produced the first KCB ll performance at the Michael and Ginger Frost Performance Space at the Bolender Center for Dance and Creativity. Mr. Krutzkamp has collaborated with the famed Group “Pink Martini” for a celebrated performance at the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts. He also recently choreographed for Nashville Ballet’s Emergence program.

As a director, he has presented repertoire from around the world by Douglas Lee, George Balanchine, Christopher Wheeldon, Salvatore Aiello, Yuri Possokhov, Penny Saunders, Andrea Schermoly, Marina Kessler, Stephanie Martinez, Chris Stuart, Todd Bolender, Matthew Neenan and Ma Cong.
