Under the direction of acclaimed dancer and respected instructor Jill Krutzkamp, Sacramento Ballet’s Second Company was launched in 2022. Second Company consists of Trainee Project and SB2 artists. Trainee Project dancers are tuition based and SB2 dancers have a full year scholarship with a stipend, courtesy of Sacramento Ballet.

We provide elite-level training in an inspiring, supportive, and creative atmosphere aiming to help dancers grow and gain the skills and confidence necessary for a career in professional dance. The program focuses on preparation for the daily life and expectations of a professional ballet company, refining technique, performance, and collaboration skills. As a proving ground for pre-professional training, we select and choreograph distinctive programming and repertoire for the Second Company which is rehearsed and performed throughout the year.

Second Company training classes include Ballet Technique, Pointe, Variations, Men’s Class, Pas de Deux, and dance specific conditioning classes. As a priority of our program, Second Company members receive workshops in mental health and well being, as well as career development assistance with professional coaches and our experienced staff.

Teachers include former professional dancers that have committed themselves to the next generation of dancers.  They include, the program director, the Artistic Director of Sacramento Ballet and a full time rehearsal director.
