Upper Division
The Upper Division is made up of advanced ballet students with 6-10 years of dance education. Female students should have at least 2 years of pointe.
All new Upper Division Students need to take a placement class before enrolling for classes. Once you have signed up for the placement class, we will contact you to arrange a time.
Please note: all regularly scheduled Lower Division Classes have ended for the summer. Please check back soon for the Fall 2026 schedule, or check out our Summer Session Schedule.
All Pre-Pro students commit to attending all classes in their schedule.

Level 5 students attend 12 hours of weekly classes. Prerequisite is Level 4 or an equal level of ability.

Pre-Pro 1 students attend at least 12 hours of weekly classes in technique, pointe, men’s class, and/or contemporary. These students should have a strong technical foundation, and be prepared to take on a rigorous training schedule in line with preparation to become a professional dancer.

Pre-Pro 2 is the highest level in the school of Sacramento Ballet, before the Second Company. Students attend at least 12 hours of weekly classes in technique, pointe, men’s class, and/or contemporary. These students should have a strong technical foundation, and be prepared to take on a rigorous training schedule in line with preparation to become a professional dancer.
Graduates of Pre-Pro 2 are invited to audition for Sacramento Ballet Second Company upon completion.
