Join us to have a week of fun dancing, crafts, dancing, story time and even more dancing!

There will be a mini performance at the end of each camp.

Join us for a splashing good time as we discover dances, stories and crafts about mermaids, pirates, and lots of sea creatures! A showing will be performed at the end of the week. Dancers will provide their own water bottle and snack every day.

Come and dance the rainbow with us this summer! Campers will learn dances, hear stories and make crafts inspired by music and favorite storybook characters from all the colors of the rainbow. There will be a showing at the end of the week. Dancers bring their own water bottle and snack each day.

Hear ye! Hear ye! Calling all princesses and princes for a royal week of fun! Campers will learn dances, hear stories and make crafts about our favorite royal classical ballets, including Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella and more. There will be a royal showing at the end of the week. Dancers will provide their own water bottle and snack every day.

Join us for a week-long summer camp to discover stories, dances and crafts about new and old fairy tales. Unicorns, fairies and many magical tales will be discovered through movement and a showing at the end of the week. Dancers will provide their own water bottle and snack every day.

Students should bring the following to camp sessions every day:

  • Snacks
  • Water (Reusable water bottles are recommended as we have a water fountain for refilling water bottles)
  • A towel or mat to sit on during story time

Please do not bring any food item with peanuts in it due to allergies in our school.

  • Face masks are optional for all students
  • In class: only small stud earrings are permitted – no other jewelry
  • Hair must be neat and secured away from the face
  • When dancers arrive and leave the building they must wear street clothing over their dancewear
  • Warm-up booties may only be worn in the studios – not outside
  • Shoes: pink or skin tone color ballet shoes for girls, black ballet shoes for boy
  • Attire: Girls: Any color leotards, pink or skin-tone tights,  Boys:  Black leggings or tights, white t-shirt

Vaccinations are not required. Masks are optional at the moment but can be required if Sacramento County goes to a red level. There is not an on-site medical nurse. Sutter Medical Hospital is 4 blocks away. We have an Osteopathic Physical Therapist who is ready to provide referrals and will also be conducting a lecture and Q&A session on injury prevention.

Karen Kamilos was born and raised in Sacramento and began her dance training with Pennie Davies. She trained locally with Bobbi Bader, Sue Geller, Cliff Klein, and Carol Pompei. Ms. Kamilos graduated with honors from San Jose State University with a B.A. and M.A. in Theatre Arts/Dance. Ms. Kamilos has studied and performed works by Mina Garman, Greg LIzenberry, Claire Whistler, Kay Clark, Duncan MacFarland, Bill Evans, and Cliff Keuter. She has performed with regional modern companies in the San Francisco/Bay Area. Ms. Kamilos has forty years of teaching experience, including developing special programs. She has taught all ages ranging from pre-school to pre-professional students as well as at the college level and older adults. Ms. Kamilos has received teacher training in adaptive dance from Axis Dance Company and Boston Ballet School’s Adaptive Dance Program. Ms. Kamilos has a passion for teaching dance and is delighted to be an integral part of school faculty at Sacramento Ballet.
