Ron Cunningham’s The Nutcracker

Best-known and most beloved of all Sacramento Ballet productions, Ron Cunningham’s The Nutcracker has been seen by hundreds of thousands of people. The images of young Clara battling the Giant Mouse King, being saved by her Nutcracker Prince, and then journeying to the magical Snowflake Forest and Kingdom of the Sweets have become a part of our culture. Joining the professional company in this annual production are more than 500 youngsters from throughout the region who take their first “leap” into the world of performing arts with the Sacramento Ballet, making it a true holiday spectacular.

No matter how bah-humbug-gy you may feel, the Sacramento Ballet’s ‘The Nutcracker’ will brighten your outlook. It is a magical adventure, a celebration of the innocence and wonder of childhood that is tailor-made for the holiday season”. — Sacramento Bee, 12/13/2010
