Victor Maguad

Victor Maguad began dancing at the Manila Dance Center at the age of seven under the guidance of Luther Perez, Tony Fabella, and Eddie Elejar. In 2004 he continued his formal training at the Cultural Center of the Philippines Dance School, where he studied under Noordin Jumalon.
Maguad launched his professional career in 2013 as a company member of Ballet Philippines and, just two years later, was promoted to Principal Dancer. He performed lead roles in full-length classical ballets such as Swan Lake, Don Quixote, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Romeo and Juliet, and Snow White, among others. Beyond the classical repertoire, he has danced works by notable choreographers including Redha Benteifour, Norman Walker, Bam Damian, Carlo Pacis, George Birkadze, David Campos, Enrico Labayen, and Kun Yang-Lin.
He later joined Les Ballets Eloelle/Grandiva, the renowned all-male ballet touring company under the artistic direction of Victor Trevino. In 2020, he participated in the Cultural Center of the Philippines Dance Workshop, a special project for professional dancers initiated by National Artist for Dance Alice Reyes.
In 2021, Maguad became a member of Sacramento Ballet, where he has performed works by choreographers such as George Balanchine, Val Caniparoli, Jennifer Archibald, Julia Feldman, Isaac Bates-Vinueza, Jermaine Spivey, Caili Quan, Adam Hougland, Alejandro Cerrudo, Ihsan Rustem, Ma Cong, Marika Brussel, and Thang Dao. He has also danced leading roles in Anthony Krutzkamp’s re-staging of Swan Lake, Paul Vasterling’s Cinderella, Michael Pink’s Dracula, and Young Soon Hue-Simon’s Romeo and Juliet.
Maguad is also a member of Ballet22, a company that challenges gender stereotypes in ballet and promotes inclusion of LGBTQIA+ artists.
