Free Performance at C.K McClatchy High School!
The Sacramento Ballet will be Jazzin’ when they present a special performance at C. K. McClatchy High School as part of the school’s 75th Anniversary Celebration. The program, which will be held in the school’s long gymnasium, will feature excerpts from the Sacramento Ballet’s Modern Masters performances in March and their Beer & Ballet series from May. A high-powered evening of grace and athleticism that is sure to bring the audience to its feet.
Among the excerpts will be movements from Jazzin’ by Darrell Grand Moultrie, to the music of Duke Ellington, Wynton Marsalis and others. It premiered at the Company’s Modern Masters performances and brought the audience to its feet at every show. One review called the program, “one of the most physically and technically challenging shows in the company's history. And the dancers pulled it off with perseverance and perspiration. And plenty of smiles!” The annual Beer & Ballet programs highlight the choreography of the Company’s dancers themselves – usually wildly fun and imaginative.
May 3, 2012 - 6:30pm
at C.K McClatchy High School - 3066 Freeport Boulevard Sacramento, CA 95818
The performance at McClatchy is free and open to the public, but audience members will have an opportunity to make a donation in an amount of their own choosing to help underwrite the costs incurred by the Ballet Company.

Fantabulous 5 Campaign
The Fantabulous 5 Campaign
Message from the Dancers: Watch Now.
Short version: There are many organizations that can go out and ask five people to donate $20,000 each and finish the week with $100,000. WE are not one of them.
So instead, we are going to ask 20,000 people to donate $5 each.
Sound intriguing? Will you help us try to achieve this goal? Here’s how you can help:
First, we ask you to donate $5 each
(easy Paypal button is below for online donations; or mail $5 to: Sacramento Ballet, (please note the Fantabulous Five Campaign) 1631 K Street, Sacramento, CA 95814.
Then, spread the word.
For example, a Facebook post could be this:
I believe in the Arts:
The Sacramento Ballet is one of many arts groups that make our city more vibrant and our lives more enjoyable. $5 will help to light the stage at the Community Center Theater, take an arts education program to a local school, or aid in presenting a free performance for high school students. $5 can go a long way! Will you donate $5 to this valuable community asset? I did. Repost if you’re a believer in having a dynamic city worth living in and help me keep the Sacramento Ballet going strong. (include link to our Fantabulous 5 page on our website)
With both government and corporate support being stretched thin with the multitude of requests, this is a chance for those who really care about the arts and the Sacramento Ballet to do something extraordinary. It’s $5 and it’s REALLY TRUE there is strength in numbers.
Thank you for being Fantabulous! And as always, we thank you for your support.
(Please note: If you take part, you will NOT be added to any mailing list unless you choose to be.)

Tapas & Tutus
On May 23rd, the Sacramento Ballet will present its 2nd Annual TAPAS & TUTUS fundraiser.
TAPAS & TUTUS is a gathering of arts lovers, idea leaders and others committed to making our region a richer and more vibrant place to live through the support and encouragement of the arts in general and the Sacramento Ballet in particular. The event features a variety of tapas from around the world, fine wine, entertainment, a live and silent auction, door prizes, photo opportunities, and a chance to meet and mingle with the professional artists of the Company.
Last year, auction items like a hosted river cruise for eight with dancers from the Company, a week at a private cabin in Tahoe, a luxury box for an Oakland A’s game, and a gourmet dinner in your home for twelve, with dancers joining in, were just a few of the favorites bid upon by those in attendance. This year will be even more exciting.
Your support will help the Company continue to present outstanding performances at major local theaters, but also to take arts education programs into the schools, makes annual appearances at Shriner’s Hospital and the Children’s Receiving Home, provide rich arts (and life) experiences for those facing economic and social challenges through organizations such as St. John’s Shelter, WEAVE, the Boys & Girls Club(s), and much more.
Tickets: $100
(Tickets are $100 each, with $50 per ticket tax deductible)
