Send a Child to the Ballet

The Sacramento Ballet’s Send a Child to the Ballet program helps kids see beyond their front door to a world of possibilities—music from other cultures, powerful dance moves, a new way to express themselves.

SEND A CHILD TO THE BALLET

You can make sure children in our community have the chance to experience this worldwide form of expression and reach beyond what they ever thought possible.

Send a Child to the Ballet often gives children their first experience at a live performance. This experience broadens their perspective of the world and enables them to engage in a cultural event they would otherwise be unable to afford. Last year, we sent more than 1,700 children to the ballet through 34 different social service groups and schools.

Along with tickets, we give each group a guide to prepare them for the exhilaration of a live performance so the children can have both an inspirational and educational experience.  Already this season, we have sent more than 167 youth from 11 community groups to the ballet, where they joined in the excitement of our Capital Choreography Competition.

Through donations from individual donors and corporate groups, we are able to send one child to the ballet for only $20. That means:
• $500 sends 25 children to the ballet
• $200 sends 10 children to the ballet
• $100 sends 5 children to the ballet

Thank you to all of our donors who are helping to keep Sacramento a thriving environment for the arts, accessible even to our youngest community members.

You can send a child to the ballet by donating online and writing “Send a Child to the Ballet” in the designation field.

If you are a social service organization interested in obtaining tickets, download the Send a Child to the Ballet Request Form and submit it to the Sacramento Ballet administrative office.
