The Dancers of the Sacramento Ballet have been committed to raising awareness of their art form and getting involved with the community on many levels.
In the spring of 2009, the dancers created their own fundraising initiatives:
They set up their own website for donations, held a silent auction, and lobbied local businesses and media for support with their “Become a Ballet Business” idea.
In the end, all of the fundraising efforts worked. The company has not only survived, it ended the 2008- 2009 season with a surplus.
During the summer, the dancers can be found in various art galleries around Midtown on Second Saturdays, performing “living sculpture” and promoting the Ballet’s upcoming season.
