Part-time Marketing Assistant
The Marketing Assistant is responsible for creating marketing materials and adhering to brand standards, creative direction and the marketing production schedule as outlined by the Marketing Director.
Responsibilities:

Posters
Multi-Page Programs
Logos
Print/Web ads and banners
Flyers
Photo manipulation, color correction, clipping paths etc
etc, as assigned
• Create and produce all collateral and marketing materials
• Update and maintain online presence:
SacBallet website and Facebook profile
Creating content and artwork for Facebook
Facebook ads
Updating website
Online Calendars
Monthly enews/email
• Maintain Ballet’s marketing archives, photos, press clippings, and other related marketing material
• Must be able to help set-up and break down of displays at performances and events
Minimum Requirements:
• 2 years marketing / design experience
• Must be able to follow creative direction but also suggest new creative solutions
• Highly organized and detail oriented. Excellent verbal and writing skills
• Degree/Certificate in Graphic Design or related
• Knowledge of ballet and dance preferred
• Must submit design samples and show design portfolio upon request
Ability to:
• Take initiative and follow through without being asked
• Multi-task, manage multiple projects
• Work well under pressure/meet strict deadlines
• Organize and prioritize self to meet designated timelines
• Understand and follow written and oral instructions and communicate clearly orally and in writing
This is a part-time, hourly, in-house position. Should be interested in attending ballet performances, previews, behind the scenes talks and after-show events.

Wardrobe Mistress/Master
Job Description:
The Sacramento Ballet is seeking an experienced Wardrobe Director for a hands-on position requiring knowledge of, and experience in, theatrical costuming. Experience with dance, especially ballet, is preferred. This position is a minimum 36-week part-time contract, beginning approximately September 1, 2010 and running through May 31, 2011. Normal work week will be 20 hours; during performance weeks, schedule will be at least 40 hours. General duties include, but are not limited to:
• Report to Artistic Leadership for direction on all issues regarding artistic concerns for costumes and with them, determine the costume needs for productions, photo shoots and promotional events
• Report to the Director of Production regarding hours and expenditures
• Supervise IATSE 874, wardrobe volunteers and over-hire personnel
• Determine the size of crew members needed for IATSE 874 calls
• Set up and maintain the wardrobe shop
• Pull, rent, purchase, fit, and build costumes as required
• Formulate costume plots for each production
• Fit, repair, dye, and maintain all Ballet and rental costumes
• Select and order fabrics and supplies
• Prepare all costumes and wardrobe supplies for shipping to and from the theatre
• Catalog and inventory incoming rentals and restore said rental packages prior to return shipping
• Prepare, pack and ship Ballet outgoing costume rentals
• Create and update ongoing inventory of the Ballet costumes
• Laundry and dry cleaning as required
• Keep current measurement charts for dancers
• Supervise hair, wigs and makeup as needed
• Supervise foot wear and accessories as needed
• Work within the budget allocation for wardrobe
• Attend all performances in theatres, in-house, alternate venues and tours or provide an approved substitute
• Other duties as assigned

INTERNSHIPS
What better way to gain valuable experience than working alongside the staff of The Sacramento Ballet? The Ballet offers internships to students interested in working with the arts. All internships with The Sacramento Ballet are unpaid, but we can work with your school to help you earn school credit. Internships are approximately 10-15 hours a week and are available throughout the academic year or during the summer. Interns will receive complimentary tickets to each performance during their internship.
The Ballet is a fun, creative, and fast-paced environment. Interns should be responsible, focused, and have good communication and computer skills. Applicants should submit a resume and cover letter, indicating the internship of interest, availability, and if academic credit is sought. After the resume is reviewed, candidates will be contacted.
