Dancers attending The Sacramento Ballet’s Summer Workshop Intensive 2008 will have the opportunity to test their abilities and renew their dedication to dance. The workshop will provide serious dance students with an intensive three-week program designed to expand their knowledge of the world of dance. The summer program will allow students with a shared focus to be mentored by world-class teachers. Classes will include: Ballet Technique, Pointe, Variations, Musical Theatre, Pilates, Tap, Acting, Jazz, Salsa, Folk Dancing, Video & Dance History.
Dates & Times
The Summer Workshop Intensive 2008 is a three-week program, June 9 to June 27. Students will participate in four to six classes per day from Monday through Saturday during Week 1 and 2, and Monday through Friday during Week 3. Monday through Friday classes will be from 9:00am to 6:00pm. All Saturday classes will meet from 9:00am to 3:00pm. PLEASE NOTE: ALL CLASS TIMES ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE.
Placement Class
A placement class is mandatory to attend the Summer Workshop Intensive. Placement classes will be held on Sunday, April 13. Students 11 to 13 years old will attend placement class from 2:00pm to 3:15pm. Students 14 and older will attend placement class from 4:15pm to 5:45pm with pointe work at the end of the class. Please arrive to register for class 30 minutes before each begins.
Requirements
Dancers must be at least 11 years of age by May 12 and at the intermediate or advanced level.

The Summer Workshop Intensive will be held at The Sacramento Ballet Studios: 1631 K Street Sacramento, CA 95814
Levels
In order to provide each student with the correct training program, the program director with The Sacramento Ballet Artistic Directors will place the students in an appropriate level where they will gain the most experience. Dancer’s level and first day schedule will be mailed by Wednesday, June 4 and posted at The Sacramento Ballet Studios by noon Friday, June 6.
Demonstration
Two demonstrations will be held this year. A mini demonstration will be held on Friday, June 20. There will also be a full demonstration on Friday, June 27. Times will be announced during the workshop. Each student will be allowed two complimentary tickets.
2008 Tuition
Since Space is limited, enrollment will be accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis. Participants must include a $25 application processing fee with their application. Students registering before April 4th will be eligible for the early registration price. Early registration by April 4 2008 Guarantees a space.
