About the Opportunity

The School Director of School of Sacramento Ballet is a visionary and collaborative leader responsible for shaping the artistic, educational, and commercial success of the school across all campuses, including Sacramento and Roseville. This role is for someone who brings genuine passion for developing dancers and building community, alongside the strategic and business acumen to help the school grow and thrive.

The ideal candidate is both an artist and an operator: someone who can inspire excellence in the studio, build strong relationships with students and families, and also think clearly about enrollment, revenue, and long-term program development. Commercial leadership is a meaningful and valued part of this role, not an afterthought, and we are looking for someone who embraces both dimensions with equal enthusiasm.

The Role

The School Director serves as the senior leader of the school, reporting to the Executive Director, Dr. Kiera Anderson, and working closely with the Artistic Director, Tiit Helimets. This leader is responsible for the artistic integrity of the program, the strength of the faculty and student experience, and the financial and operational health of the school. They set strategy, build culture, and put the systems in place that allow the school to grow with purpose and sustainability. They also ensure that the training environment reflects the artistic direction of Sacramento Ballet and supports the development of dancers aligned with the company’s standards.

  • Collaborate with organizational leadership on long-term planning and alignment with Sacramento Ballet’s broader vision
  • Support the continued growth of both campuses, including program expansion and new initiatives, in partnership with the Executive Director.
